Luther Elementary School seems normal enough – until students start having dreams about a jungle and wake up exhausted, like they just competed in battle.
Tanzen wakes up for the first day of fifth grade from a weird dream and notices orange and black fur on his arms. He overcomes his awkwardness to see if his Best Friends Forever for Life (BFFFLs) have been having the same dreams – and discovers they are also slowly showing signs of shifting into different animal forms.
